Run incompatible programs on Vista

Newer operating systems usually show incompatibility with older applications. Same is the case with Windows Vista. Many programs do not run in Windows Vista due to unavailability of drivers or incompatibility with software versions, etc. To fix this, Windows Vista provides program compatibility options which helps run older apps in Windows Vista.

If an application refuses to run in Windows Vista, right click it's .exe file and select 'Properties'. In the properties box, click on 'Compatibility' tab. In the 'Compatibility Mode' drop down menu, select the operating system in which your older application previously worked best. Also check 'Run this program as an administrator'. Click OK and you are done.
